MAKING PRESENTATIONS WITH LibreOffice IMPRESS: A Tutorial

Impress is the counterpart of MS Office's PowerPoint. Impress is truly an outstanding tool for creating effective multimedia presentations. Creating and editing slides are very versatile, because of the different editing and viewing modes. Everything in LibreOffice Impress is self-explorable if you are already familiar with Microsoft PowerPoint. Below are examples of the LibreOffice Impress document window.

The above-mentioned editing and viewing modes, which can be seen in the Impress document window, include the following views: normal, outline, notes, handout, and slide sorter.

The normal view is for general editing, while the outline view is for organizing and outlining your text content. Additionally, the notes view can be used for viewing and editing the notes attached to a slide, and the handouts view is for producing paper-based material. The last view, which is the slide sorter, can be used for a thumbnail sheet view that lets you quickly locate and order your slides.
